What Problem It Solves ▼

Getting consistent, editable AI images usually means juggling API keys, opaque per-generation costs, and no easy way to compare a fast model against a high-detail one. ShimmerPic removes those barriers by running both GPT Image 2.5 variants in the browser at the same credit price, showing an exact cost quote before you generate, and supporting reference-photo editing so real products or subjects stay recognisable across iterations.

Overview

ShimmerPic is a browser-based AI image generation and editing service built around OpenAI's GPT Image 2.5 models. It exposes both released variants — Flare, described as the fast default model, and Sunburst, described as the precision/detail model — in a single web studio, with no API key required from the user. New accounts receive 6 free credits to start.

Full Description ▼

The workflow is prompt-driven. Users can write their own prompt or open one of the roughly 531 community prompts in the Explore library, which are organized by output type such as product photography, posters and typography, illustration and art, charts and infographics, documents and publishing, and scenes and storytelling. Each listed prompt is shown alongside an example output and a link to the original creator on X. Community examples are explicitly labelled as inspiration rather than a guarantee of identical results.

Generation settings include aspect ratios from 1:1 to 9:16, resolution options from 1K to 4K, and up to three reference photos for reference-guided editing — useful for keeping a real product or person recognisable while rebuilding the scene around them. The interface states a price quote before generation begins and updates as settings change. Both models are offered at the same credit price, and results are private until the user downloads them. Generated images are stored under 'My creations' and can be reopened as a reference for further edits.
