Overview

Sumi is an AI-powered manga translator that re-letters manga, manhwa, webtoons, and doujinshi into the reader's language directly on the page. It works as a Chrome/Edge/Firefox browser extension, an online translator, and an iOS/iPadOS/Mac app with a built-in browser. The tool does not host manga or require uploading files; instead, it translates pages in place on the sites the user is already reading, such as Shonen Jump+, MANGA Plus, and WEBTOON. It supports 134 languages and has been tested on 30 official manga platforms. Sumi offers a free tier: the first page requires no sign-up, and creating an account grants 5 free pages plus 5 more daily. The interface includes a floating 'Sumi ball' that users tap to translate the current page, with an Auto mode that translates each subsequent page automatically. The online translator also accepts image uploads (JPEG, PNG, WebP, ZIP, CBZ) and supports batch translation. Sumi is available as a Chrome extension, Firefox add-on, Safari extension, and App Store app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
